Data and metering
What does energy supplier mean?
The energy supplier sells and supplies energy under a supply contract. Pricing, supply period and agreed services are governed by this contractual relationship.
The data basis, contract scope and distinction from related terms are essential for applying this to a portfolio. A combined bill does not mean every service is provided by the same market participant. Distinguish invoicing from operational responsibility.

PROPERTY PRACTICE
What does this mean for your portfolio?
Offer comparisons should show volume provisions, processes and responsibilities alongside prices. The supplier is not automatically the meter owner or local network operator. Clearly document contracting parties and supply points, particularly where several property companies are involved.
An example.
Our own example: a portfolio tenders several sites. The selected supplier provides the contractually agreed supply; the respective local network operators remain separate participants.
Simplified example to explain the term. Actual metering data, the supply concept and agreed terms are decisive.
WHAT MATTERS
Three questions for your portfolio.
Which services and pricing rules are agreed?
Which supply points and periods are covered?
Make the distinction clear
Distinction from metering and network operators: a combined bill does not mean every service is provided by the same market participant. Distinguish invoicing from operational responsibility.
